Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academies Trust (SENDAT) and Duke of Lancaster School are hosting a recruitment event for anyone interested in a support role at the new free special school in Fakenham. 

Come along to find out about the posts currently being advertised, including Catering Assistants, Family Support Worker, Head of Kitchen, Higher Level Teaching Assistants, Special Teaching Assistants and Cleaners.

Limited parking is available at the Community Centre. 3 hours of free parking is available in the Tesco car park opposite and other car parks are located nearby (pinpointed in the below map). Fakenham Community Centre is in the centre of town and the postcode is NR21 9DY. Entrance to the centre is via Oak Street by Fakenham Library.

There are several bus stations located in Fakenham, including Lancaster Avenue, Cark Park, Post Office, Oak Street and Fisher Road. The following bus lines stop in Fakenham: 22, 36, 49, X29. A number of support staff vacancies are available for Duke of Lancaster School, including Special Teaching Assistants (STAs), Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), Family Support Worker (FSW), Head of Kitchen, Catering Assistant and Cleaning Assistant.

It is important that we continue with safe COVID-19 measures during the recruitment event, including hand washing and social distancing. The event will be in the main hall at Fakenham Community Centre which has a maximum capacity for 200 people and will therefore provide enough space for attendees to social distance in. To ensure protection for yourself and others, it is advised that you complete a Lateral Flow Test 24 hours before attending.

Duke of Lancaster School will be for up to 100 students with Communication and Interaction needs. 48 students will join the school when it opens in January 2022, and it will grow to meet its full capacity in September 2023.

Duke of Lancaster School and SENDAT are currently recruiting for Special Teaching Assistants (STAs), Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), a Family Support Worker (FSW), cleaner and catering assistants and a Head of Kitchen.

The support staff roles currently being advertised will start when the school opens in January 2022.
