Mr Richard Attwell
Appointed 01/09/2019 Chair of Finance and Audit committee
I am a CIMA qualified accountant with over 25 years’ experience working in financial roles across a number of industries. The last 15 years have been spent working in senior management roles and I am currently Finance Director for Jockey Club Estates, a land and property management company. I work closely with senior managers in the different business units to ensure appropriate financial controls exist and managers are supported to develop their teams and the business in a sustainable and commercial manner.
Away from work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am a regular at my local parkrun with my 11 year old son and am also a Run Director at our local Junior Parkrun. My son has a dual diagnosis of Autism and ADHD and this has been the catalyst for our involvement with a number of local community activities such as parkrun. I have tried to use the insight I have gained from living with ASD to positive effect by involvement as a Board member at 2 local schools, Sebert Wood Community Primary School and SENDAT. This provides me with the opportunity to apply business experience to support education settings with a particular focus on SEND and Finance.
