SENDAT

SENDAT
... the provider of choice for SEND

Our Provisions

SENDAT supports a range of needs from ages 5 to 25.
Our expertise lies in Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social Emotional & Mental Health and Behavioural needs. We work across Suffolk and Norfolk to try to meet the needs of students with SEND.

There are 5 special schools and two centres linked to mainstream. Please use the menu to the left to find out more about each school.

The SENDAT vision and purpose is to

Offer a continuum of specialist and alternative provision, focused on achieving the best possible student outcomes while fully supporting students and their families.

Work with our partners in education and all other stakeholders to remove barriers that may exist between different types of specialist provision.

Develop well-rounded individuals who can go forward into their adult lives prepared for the work environment and capable of being independent and productive citizens.

We provide a service to our local and regional communities which has a coherent approach to Special and alternative Education across Suffolk and beyond. The Trust has a symbiotic relationship with all its members ensuring that a continuum of specialist provision can be focused to best meet the needs of students with complex SEND/AP.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions that we are often asked about SENDAT

Our provisions currently cover students from Year 1 to Year 13 and Angel Hill can admit students with specific needs to the age of 25. Please click on the School Hexagons above to find out more.

Of course! We are delighted to welcome new families and students to our schools. Just call the school office who will be able to talk you through the admissions criteria and procedure and organise a visit for you. We also run taster day Special School Experiences for teachers who would like to learn more about teaching in a SEND School.

You can talk to any of our school leaders about provision for your child. If you would like a call back, please leave your details on the contact form and we will get back to as soon as possible.

We have residential support at Priory School and Chalk Hill but students do have to have specific requirements to be able to access the places.

Prior to admission we will meet with you and your child to do a full assessment of need which will tailor the support we put in place for your child’s learning whilst they are at our schools. We hold regular parents evenings and annual reviews with you so that all the plans are up to date.

Please get in touch with us on the contact form and speak to our Partnership Director, Angela Whatley. There are more details for schools on the “Join Us” page.
