Welcome to SENDAT
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academies Trust
The provider of choice for SEND
SENDAT provisions support a range of need from ages 5 to 25. Our expertise lies in Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social Emotional & Mental Health and Behavioural needs. Priory School, Stone Lodge Academy and Chalk Hill offer school based learning environments in Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Sudbury. Mount Road specialist Autism Unit is based within Priory School with spaces for six young people from Year 7. Our Outreach service works with young people and families in mainstream schools. We work in partnership with Suffolk County Council for students between the ages of 16 – 19 who find it difficult to access Further Education. They are based at Angel Hill College in Bury St Edmunds as part of the Priory School Post 16 offer.
- Offer a continuum of specialist and alternative provision, focused on achieving the best possible student outcomes while fully supporting students and their families.
- Work with our partners in education and all other stakeholders to remove barriers that may exist between different types of specialist provision.
- Develop well-rounded individuals who can go forward into their adult lives prepared for the work environment and capable of being independent and productive citizens.

Questions that we are often asked about SENDAT
Our provisions currently cover students from Year 1 to Year 13 and Angel Hill can admit students with specific needs to the age of 19. Please click on the School Hexagons above to find out more.
Of course! We are delighted to welcome new families and students to our schools. Just call the school office who will be able to talk you through the admissions criteria and procedure and organise a visit for you. We also run taster day Special School Experiences for teachers who would like to learn more about teaching in a SEND School.
You can talk to any of our school leaders about provision for your child. If you would like a call back, please leave your details on the contact form and we will get back to as soon as possible.
We have residential support at Priory School and Chalk Hill but students do have to have specific requirements to be able to access the places.
Prior to admission we will meet with you and your child to do a full assessment of need which will tailor the support we put in place for your child’s learning whilst they are at our schools. We hold regular parents evenings and annual reviews with you so that all the plans are up to date.
Please get in touch with us on the contact form and speak to our Partnership Director, Angela Whatley. There are more details for schools on the “Join Us” page.
