The Friends of Priory is the school’s ‘PTA’ group which has a charitable status. The members are made up of parents, carers and school staff whose purpose it is to raise funds and organise social events for our students and parents. In the past the Friends of Priory have organised a school disco, film night, Christmas raffle, car boot sale and regularly provide cakes and refreshments at school events and termly parents evenings. This encourages closer links with school and our community.
Funds raised by Friends of Priory are intended to provide ‘extras’ not already provided by the school’s main income – often ‘fun things’ that make learning more interesting and exciting. The Friends of Priory committee and the head teacher decide how to spend the funds. Common items include playground equipment and helping to fund school trips and activities.
There are many different ways you can help with Friends of Priory, whether you have lots of time to offer or not and getting involved is very rewarding. The committee meet regularly to plan forthcoming events and split the work amongst the team. You can always support the group simply by turning up, if you are interested please contact the school office.
